What is OSHC?

 

Whitehorse Primary School Out of School Hours Care is a non-profit service sponsored by the Whitehorse School Council and registered with the Australian Federal Government. The program is developed and planned with a varied group of activities for mixed ages.

 

Philosophy

 

We believe that all children are different and should have their individual needs met.  All children will be treated in a caring and positive manner.  They will be listened to, encourage and respected.

 

We will create a safe, nuturing environment where children, parents and staff are always welcome.  We will provide an environment that encourages the partcipation of all children in a wide range of activities to stimulate young minds and create healthy bodies.

 

What do we do at Out of School Hours Care?

 

Children participate in cooking , art and craft , sport, board games, imaginary play and enjoy the option of self-directed activities. We utlilise the state of the art school facilities, including the stadium, kitchen garden, outdoor basketball court and oval.

 

The children are provided with breakfast at before school care each morning and an afternoon snack at after school care.

 

Hours

 

Before School Care

7.30am - 8.45am

 

After School Care

3.30pm - 6.00pm

Costs

 

Parents are often substantially subsidised by the Federal Government through the Child Care Benefit which is available upon application to Centrelink.

 

The charges made by the service vary according to the level of subsidy provided by Centrelink.

Enrolment

 

To enrol your child in our Out of School Hours Care service, please complete the enrolment form and return it to either OSHC or the School Office.
