Thank you for considering Whitehorse Primary School. We gladly welcome enrolments for all levels from Foundation (Prep) to Grade 6. Children commencing Foundation (Prep) must turn 5 years by 30 April in the year in which they are starting.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Our school zone is available on findmyschool which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

All other applications will be considered and prioritised according to:

1. Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time.
2. All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Foundation (Prep) Enrolments

All children enrolling for Foundation (Prep) are offered the opportunity to participate in a Transition program in the year prior. This program provides an insight into school life and assists your child in feeling comfortable and happy about starting school.

Our school is required to use an online system for new enrolments to Victorian government schools called VicStudents. VicStudents is available for students who are enrolling in a Victorian Government School for the first time. This includes Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2026.

VicStudents has been assessed by the Department of Education to a high degree of security in line with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and is compliant with ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR ENROLMENTS 2026

If your child is starting Foundation (Prep) in 2026, you will be able to apply to enrol your child in a Victorian government primary school from the start of Term 2, 2025 (Tuesday 22 April 2025).

• Families can download the Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers (available https://www.vic.gov.au/enrolling-foundation-prep by Tuesday 22 April 2025). 
  
  
• Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 25 July 2025.
  
  
• You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer by Friday 22 August 2025.
  
  
• Take part in information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2025.
  
  
• Your child will start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 28 January 2026.
