Principal's Message

Welcome to the Whitehorse Primary School.

At Whitehorse Primary we have a diverse student population and a warm, friendly and caring community. Staff and students are committed to a culture of teaching and learning excellence.  We are very proud of our strong academic program that provides high quality educational opportunities for all students.

Our school vision is to actively support the development of the whole child. To encourage this, we offer a wide range of programs to cater for the interests and needs of our children. Specialist teachers provide weekly sessions in Visual Art, Chinese, Science and Physical Education. We also offer lunchtime clubs, instrumental music tuition, senior and junior choirs and a school instrumental ensemble. Our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen and Garden was the first to operate in a primary school and continues to be an important part of our school.

Whitehorse Primary School also operates Seedlings@Whitehorse kindergarten onsite. Seedlings offers programs for both 3 and 4 year children, along with a parent run playgroup. Being able to make use of all of our school facilities prepares the children for a great start to primary school.

We enjoy a close our connection to local secondary schools which helps with a smooth transition for our students to high school. We also have strong partnerships with the local community, including many sporting clubs, local businesses and the Whitehorse City Council who operate their Blackburn North Maternal and Child Health Centre on our site.

I am extremely proud of the students, families and staff members who make up the Whitehorse Primary School community. I encourage you to visit us so that you can begin to experience what makes us unique.
